Why I Left PE to Start Deja Brew?

Ridhi Kawatra

CEO, Deja Brew

Hi, I’m Ridhi — a commerce with economics grad turned coffee romantic. For my first actual job outside of college, I worked in private equity operations at a global KPO, supporting fund managers with everything from financial modeling to LP reporting. On paper, it looked like I had made it. But in reality, I was burned out, boxed in, and deeply unfulfilled.

My days were filled with balance sheets and diligence trackers, but my heart? It was elsewhere — in conversations with creators, in quiet coffee rituals, in dreaming of something more soulful, more sensory.

That’s how Deja Brew was born. Not just as a café or a brand, but as a rebellion against burnout and blandness. It’s a small-batch, slow-sipped tribute to everyone who’s ever wanted to start over — whether from a career, a city, or a system that never truly saw them.

Why “Deja Brew”?

Because sometimes, your second life begins in a cup.
Because coffee can be memory, comfort, courage.
And because some stories are worth reliving — just better this time.

Whether you’re here for the matcha, the mochas, or the meaning — welcome to Deja Brew. We’re brewing something new, every day.
